Orange showed dedication to improving his conditioning throughout his time in college.
During his time at North High School in North Kansas City, Missouri, Orange’s weight peaked at 400 pounds during his senior year, after starting at 300 pounds as a freshman. This led to some college teams losing interest in recruiting him. However, Orange took charge of his nutrition and training, managing to drop his weight to 325 pounds by his junior year at Iowa State.
According to his official NFL Draft profile, Orange stands at 6-foot-2 3/8 and weighs 322 pounds.
Although he initially didn’t like the nickname “Big Citrus” that started on social media, Orange has grown to embrace it. Fans and coaches began referring to him as “Big Citrus,” and he eventually adopted the name, stating that he now loves it.
Orange expressed his excitement about reuniting with the Minnesota Vikings, where he had a Top 30 visit earlier in the spring.
When the Vikings coaches informed Orange that they intended to draft him if he was available on Day 2, he was unsure of how seriously to take their words. However, he is grateful that they kept their promise.
Orange’s family joined in the celebrations alongside him on Friday night.
