The Chicago Bears have chosen safety Dillon Thieneman from the University of Oregon with the 25th pick in this year’s NFL draft. Thieneman was a key player for the Oregon Ducks last season, earning first-team All-American honors and helping the Ducks reach the college football playoffs. Thieneman started his collegiate career at Purdue University before transferring to Oregon in 2025. The Bears identified safety as a position of need after losing key players in free agency. Thieneman will join recently acquired safety Coby Bryant to bolster the Bears’ defense under Defensive Coordinator Dennis Allen. The Bears have had success in recent drafts under general manager Ryan Poles, bringing in young talent to build a strong core. Thieneman is expected to make an immediate impact in his rookie season. The Bears also have upcoming draft picks in the second and third rounds, along with Day 3 assets. The team has been active in the offseason with free agent signings and departures, as well as managing ongoing discussions about stadium plans. Organized team activities for the Bears will start in late May, with training camp expected to begin in July as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
