Veronique Rumolino presented the Cercle de l’Orme de Biscarrosse in 2024 as an alternative community space, “one foot in tradition and the other in openness to the world.” Helene Larrezet, the mayor, confirmed its intergenerational role, a “sort of spacetime door.” Frederic Cuvillier, president of the Federation of Cercles de Gascogne, praised the enthusiasm and commitment of the organizers and volunteers involved in each entity in Landes and Gironde, who dedicate their free time to creating connections and proximity in their community.
5,000 spectators in 2025
Through its “Entrez dans les Cercles” (Enter the Circles) project, the Federation coordinates the cultural programming of the network and offers its artistic events to local groups. In 2025, 46 concert or show dates welcomed around 5,000 spectators. Collaborations with the Theatre de Gascogne, the regional collective La Loupe, the Musicalarue festival, and the Culture and Territories days, as well as partnerships with the Archives des Cercles 40 and 33, convinced the administrators to embrace the desire to identify, protect, and enhance remarkable historical heritage.
In 2026, 45 EDLC labeled animations and an interaction with the Office Artistique de la Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (OARA) are planned. The entertainment entrepreneur license will be renewed and a triennial agreement with the region is currently being signed.
