A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect from 8 PM this evening until 2 AM EDT Sunday. Up to one foot of inundation above ground level is expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways in central and southern Delaware, as well as central, northern, and southern New Jersey during this time.
The impacts of this flooding may include the beginning of flooding on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, as well as along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible.
It is important for residents to take precautions, such as not leaving vehicles in areas prone to tidal flooding and avoiding driving through floodwaters. The water depth may be deeper than it appears, which could put individuals in danger and lead to costly vehicle damage.
