On Saturday, May 23, the Plouguiel Stadium in Côtes-d’Armor will host the international U9 football tournament of the Stars of Trégor for the first time, as the Yves-Meudal Stadium in Tréguier cannot host the event this year. The team, made up of 110 volunteers led by David Pinel and Ugo le Dauphin, has chosen Plouguiel, where youth matches of Trégor FC are regularly held. The recent renovations to the stadium, including the construction of new changing rooms and the enhancement of the stands through painting works, will allow this important event to take place. Every year, this event gives local young players the opportunity to challenge professional clubs.

This year, among the 35 teams participating, the tournament will feature teams from Sporting Portugal, Anderlecht, and Servette Genève. Mayor Pierre Huonnic expressed his satisfaction at hosting such a significant event for the community, acknowledging the municipality’s investment in youth and sports over the past term.

The tournament will kick off at 9 am, with the final scheduled for around 6 pm. Admission is free, and there will be food and drinks available on site. You can follow the tournament live by clicking here. Personalize your news by adding your favorite cities and media with My News.
