President of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man praised and congratulated the National Defense, Security, and Foreign Affairs Committee for its remarkable achievements during the 15th legislative term and the first half of 2026. However, he candidly pointed out some limitations, including the superficial and ineffective nature of certain foreign policy actions, and the lack of rigor in information exchange mechanisms, task allocation, and issue management during implementation.
Regarding the priorities for the remaining months of 2026, the President of the National Assembly requested the Commission to continue its innovative efforts in legislation. The Commission should develop a precise plan for implementing the resolutions of the Party’s 14th National Congress and Resolution No. 59-NQ / TW of the Politburo on international integration; implement Politburo Conclusion No. 17-KL / TW on the legislative orientation of the 16th legislature; and participate in the thorough revision of legislative texts, fully integrating elements related to national defense, security, and foreign affairs into draft laws.
