The mother of Audrey Cavalié, the ex-partner of Cédric Prizzon who is accused of her murder in Portugal, is requesting that he be tried in France, her lawyer Fabien Arakélian told AFP. “We have facts that were committed in Portugal but with victims who have French nationality and the perpetrator who also has French nationality,” said Arakélian, stating that “legally there is nothing today preventing this case from being handled by French justice.” According to the lawyer, it is a matter of “legal common sense.”

The body has been repatriated

Cédric Prizzon, a 42-year-old former police officer, is currently in pretrial detention in Portugal, where he is accused of killing Audrey Cavalié, his ex-partner aged 40 and mother of their 12-year-old son, as well as his partner at the time of the incident, Angela Legobien, 26, and mother of their 18-month-old daughter. The “disappeared of Aveyron” had been abducted in Vailhourles on Friday, March 20, 2026, leading to a tragic end in Portugal. Cédric Prizzon is suspected of killing the two women who, according to the autopsy report, were asphyxiated. The bodies of the two women from Aveyron were found buried in an isolated location in the district of Bragança, in the northeast of the Iberian country, about a hundred kilometers north of where Cédric Prizzon was arrested, in the Portuguese region of Guarda. The former police officer was arrested during a traffic stop with his children, who have since been repatriated to France. According to Arakélian, the body of Audrey Cavalié was also repatriated “last Thursday.” “Today, I do not have more information than that about what is happening in Portugal, except for the pretrial detention of Cédric Prizzon,” explained the lawyer, who now wants “things to progress” and is requesting his transfer to France through a European arrest warrant.
