Rezaei: America Forced to Accept Iranian Conditions in Negotiations
Ibrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, stated on Monday that if America wants to act wisely, it has no choice but to accept Iran’s conditions in negotiations. This statement comes in response to international pressure on the United States regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement released today by the Iranian news agency IRNA, Mr. Rezaei mentioned the evolving situation in the Strait of Hormuz, indicating that the US is facing pressure from regional countries and oil-importing nations. These countries hold Washington responsible for the tensions disrupting navigation and oil exports through this strategic maritime route.
He added, “These countries demand that the United States create the necessary conditions to ensure the continuity of oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz.”
Rezaei declared, “The Islamic Consultative Assembly is working on legislation to regulate navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, legally obligating the government and armed forces to manage the area while establishing passage rights.”
Rezaei emphasized, “The Islamic Republic asserts an undeniable fact: the status of the Strait of Hormuz will never be the same.”
Regarding the negotiations, he stated, “Some are concerned, but Iran’s participation in negotiations does not mean conceding to the enemy. We have paid a heavy price and stood firm.”
Rezaei highlighted that if negotiations were to take place, they would aim to compel the United States to accept the conditions of the Islamic Republic, stressing that Washington has no choice but to comply if it wishes to act wisely.
He added, “The conditions of the Islamic Republic of Iran are defined in ten points, and we will not yield.”
According to him, these conditions include recognizing Iran’s right to enrich uranium, paying compensation for damages, and acknowledging the Islamic Republic’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Rezaei stated, “If the other party accepts these conditions, the path will be open to the end of tensions and the resolution of the conflict.”
