The Clarnie platform, designed to connect farmers and students, has been a success. It has helped around a hundred students find internships or apprenticeships. Its two creators now aim to expand the concept to other countries.
Allowing students to find a job or apprenticeship in agriculture while meeting the needs of farmers is the motto of the Clarnie platform launched in 2024. And it’s a real success two years later.
Based in their offices at the heart of the Toulouse national wholesale market, Clara Silveiro and Marnie Atgé are now entrepreneurs, working hard to push forward their platform, Clarnie.
These two individuals, who we met as students at the National School of Agronomy in Toulouse at the project’s inception in 2024, have made significant progress.
“We managed to raise 10,500 euros to launch our website through crowdfunding, and since September 2025, we have been earning a minimum wage,” says Marnie Atgé.
The Clarnie platform, named after the two creators, stemmed from the desire to bridge two struggling worlds initially at odds: on one side, students seeking work compatible with their studies, and on the other, farmers in need of seasonal or regular labor.
“We are very proud of what we have achieved,” she continues. “In two years, we have managed to work with agricultural cooperatives, which is very quick.”
“And we have already connected a hundred students with farmers who had real needs.”
However, the two young women still face challenges: “We encounter difficulties with farmers because they don’t take the time to advertise their positions,” confirms Marnie Atgé. “It’s easier working with cooperatives; they also pay for them, but in the end, we only reach a quarter of the farmers.”
“Our target audience is precisely those who have not adhered to a cooperative because they are more diverse,” emphasizes the young businesswoman. “They engage in agritourism or retail sales. That’s why we have established a partnership with the ‘Welcome to the Farm’ label.”
In conclusion, “But it’s still a painstaking task that takes a lot of time.”
Not discouraged, the two young creators are now aiming to expand to Belgium after conquering the entirety of France.
