The Brest Sport Santé association is in full swing, with the development of adapted physical activity. Membership has grown from 15 to 230 members in five years. On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the annual general meeting at the Klub House in Gouesnou also coincided with a celebration, as the structure was launched in May 2021. “Movement is part of our DNA. Sport is a therapy thanks to the ATM method (Therapeutic Anchoring by Movement) developed by Anne-Soizic Guion, a medical-sports educator. Twenty weekly sessions are scheduled in Gouesnou. It attracts athletes from across the Brest area thanks to our two employees. This week, we offered our members the opportunity to experience other adapted physical activities: fencing, table tennis, acro-yoga, surfing, paddleboarding, health rugby, and long-distance swimming,” said Françoise Abiven, the president.

Only advantages The action of volunteers has spread across the region since last year, with the opening of a course slot in the town of Dirinon. The structure addresses major public health issues: combating sedentary lifestyles, preventing chronic physical and mental illnesses, maintaining autonomy, and strengthening social ties. The action primarily aims to support populations who are sometimes distant from sports practice through secure, personalized, and financially accessible supervision.
