As the regular season of Ligue 2 comes to an end, some movements have already taken place on the sidelines. Some clubs have even announced their new coaches.
Serious matters are already starting up for Ligue 2. While the regular season officially ended on Saturday, May 9th, some clubs are already preparing for the next season. And that starts with finding, for some teams, their new coach. This Thursday, several teams in this second division of French football have already announced their new coach. This is notably the case for Nancy.
The 14th place team of the 2025-2026 season has decided to trust Oswald Tanchot, a 52-year-old. He is well known to football fans, having previously coached Sochaux and FC Grenoble. AS Nancy Lorraine has therefore found the successor to Pablo Correa, who left two weeks ago after not having his contract renewed. Tanchot has committed for a duration of two seasons plus one more optional season.
Usaï, a coach to move back up to the elite
Since being fired from his position as coach of FC Grenoble in December 2024, after a seven-month mission, the coach has been without a club. Before that, Oswald Tanchot had experience as an assistant coach at Le Havre from 2016 to 2019, and as a head coach at Amiens from 2020 to 2021 before joining Sochaux. Another club has also announced their new coach.
This is Reims, who parted ways with Karel Geraerts after failing to move back up directly to the elite. The new Reims coach is named Nicolas Usaï. The 52-year-old coach has signed a two-season contract. Usaï is very familiar with Ligue 2, having previously coached Nîmes, Châteauroux, and Pau. His mission is very clear, to promote the club to Ligue 1. A rather new mission for a coach accustomed to generally fighting relegation.
