Forehand, backhand, smash – these are the technical moves mastered by Baptiste Da Silva, a member of the Arques Sports Star Club for about ten years. But there are other reflexes he’ll need to control soon, as he explains: “I am delighted to have been selected because it represents a huge amount of work, effort, to master all the ball boy moves.”
But being a ball boy is not something anyone can do – it requires managing both physical and mental aspects. “Physically, it’s quite challenging because we are constantly sprinting to retrieve the balls, always bending our legs to pass the balls. And mentally, it’s also a bit tiring to think about everything,” explains Baptiste Da Silva.
It is a first for the club, an honor for the leaders. Gery Mailly, president of the Arques Tennis Sports Star Club, explains: “At the club, what we try to do is promote young players through coaching and mentoring.”
Throughout the tournament, the best performers will be selected. Only 36 of them will participate in the men’s and women’s finals. Baptiste hopes to fulfill his dream and gather many memories for himself, his family, and his club.
