Former Sports Teacher Arrested for Sexual Solicitation
An ex-sports teacher, well-known for tracking down criminals online, was placed in provisional detention and indicted on Thursday. The 66-year-old suspect, who had previously been convicted in 2005 for possession of child pornography images, now faces charges for “manufacturing and distributing violent, pornographic, or degrading messages accessible to minors” as well as “sexual propositions made to a minor under the age of fifteen by an adult.”
The suspect voluntarily went to the Vesoul police station on Tuesday after being caught by Finnyzyy, a streamer specializing in catching “predators” on the Internet.
Caught Live by a Streamer
The streamer disguised his voice and appearance using artificial intelligence to pose as a 14-year-old girl. During their thirty-minute live conversation on Monday evening, he made advances towards the fake teenager, offering her tickets to a PSG match.
He asked to see her and when her image appeared, he remarked, “It’s nice to see a pretty young girl.” Throughout the conversation, he requested “nudes” (nude photos), suggested they “kiss,” or offered to show her his genitals. To the latter proposition, when she replied, “I’m 14 years old!” he retorted, “So what?”
Although his face was blurred, the man in his sixties was identifiable multiple times in the video, which went viral after being shared.
Previously Convicted for Possession of Child Pornography
In January 2025, this former head of the National Union of School Sport in Haute-Saône was sentenced to 18 months of suspended prison for possession and distribution of child pornography images. He was, however, acquitted of charges of sexual assault and corruption of a minor for which he was also accused.
His sentence includes a ban from engaging in any professional activities involving regular contact with minors, as stated by the prosecutor. His computer equipment has been seized for further police analysis.
