The amateur basketball scene at USR is bubbling with excitement. Between close games, hard-fought qualifications, and clinching top spots, the end of the season is shaping up to be intense. The U13 Boys are aiming for the title against Phoenix Toulouse.

The U13 Girls wrapped up their season with a loss against Orthez (26-42). It was also a disappointing end at home for the U15 Boys against PNH (31-32) and the Senior Boys against Loudes (24-30). Despite a loss to Lourdes (27-30), the U13 Boys still managed to qualify for a final against Phoenix Toulouse by winning two-thirds of the game. The USR had a double away game at Rieux-Volvestre with contrasting results: the U15 Girls claimed victory (13-33) and secured the top spot in the group thanks to Comminges’ defeat. This puts the girls from the USR-Coteaux group in line to host their eighth-finals. On the flip side, the U18 Boys needed a win to retain their top spot and home advantage for the finals. However, they fell short and lost 29-31, conceding the first position to their opponents. This means they will have to travel for the quarter and semi-finals. In Isle-Jourdain, the U18 Girls had a bit of a scare as they were caught up in the second half, but ultimately prevailed 36-33. They too will be traveling for the finals. For the fourth time in a row, the opponents of the Women’s Seniors had to forfeit, which should secure their top spot in Occitanie and a home eighth-final on the weekend of May 23-24. As for the recreational league, there was a high-scoring match earlier in the week between USR and Barzun, with the visiting team triumphing 39-58.

Upcoming Matches: – Saturday, May 16: U9: Tournament in Rabastens, featuring Lourdes and Tournay, at 10 am – Sunday, May 17: U13 Boys: Final sector Phoenix Toulouse / USR at 4 pm.
