Riveting Action at the Grandes Heures Nature Event in Besançon
A major event in outdoor sports in France, Grandes Heures Nature is back in the Grand Besançon area from June 11 to 14, 2026. Set in the Chamars Park, it embodies the DNA of the region: a space where sport, nature, exceptional heritage, innovation, and conviviality come together.
One of the highlights this year is the Show Citadelle VTT, offering a unique experience at the heart of the Besançon Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Technical routes, spectacular staging, and an engaging format will make it one of the weekend’s highlights.
A new challenge, the Swimrun, will also allow participants to explore the area differently by alternating running and swimming in the Doubs River.
Events in 2026
The festival features some longstanding events:
- Cliff Climbing Contest, a climbing competition for all
- Ekiden, a festive after-work race bringing together over 2,000 participants
- X’périences Raids, a concentration of outdoor activities in teams combining six disciplines over 60 km
- Kids Raids, a memorable multisport adventure in the heart of the Grandes Heures Nature village for all ages
- Gourmet Hike, a blend of walking in nature with gourmet stops
- Kayaking Excursion, navigating through natural landscapes and heritage sites for a unique kayaking experience
