The 2026 World Cup will begin with three opening ceremonies preceding the first matches of the three organizing nations, Mexico, the United States, and Canada, as announced by FIFA on Friday, May 8.

The first 48-team World Cup will kick off on June 11 with the Mexico-South Africa match at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. An opening ceremony will precede the 90-minute kickoff. The festivities will feature artists like the Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin, the Hispanic-Mexican singer Belinda, and the Mexican Alejandro Fernandez.

Canada will have its own ceremony on June 12 in Toronto before facing Bosnia-Herzegovina, just like the United States later on the same day in Los Angeles before the inaugural match of Team USA against Paraguay.

French singer Vegedream is scheduled to perform in Toronto with Nora Fatehi and Michael Bublé, while pop star Katy Perry, rapper Future, and Brazilian singer Anitta will perform in Los Angeles.
