The Billard Club Orangeois hosted the departmental final for Regional Band 1 on Sunday, April 19th. “It is a match played by six players, with the winner automatically qualifying for the league final, organized by the Mediterranean Billiards League (LMB). The winner will compete for the national league final,” explained Yves Gourseaud, game director. This competition, organized by the Vaucluse Billiards Committee, took place in the presence of honorary president Jean Buffard, who is ninety years old.
Gilles Gantois’ breakthrough He worked for many decades in support of this sport, serving as treasurer and secretary. “I have been playing billiards for sixty years now,” emphasized this passionate player, still in good shape.
At the end of the day, Gilles Gantois from the Orange club was declared the winner of the Vaucluse Band R1 final with four victories and the best average. He is therefore qualified for the LMB final and in a good position to participate in the national league final.
