The Euro-Mir attraction, aged over 30 years, has long gained a cult status among visitors. Fans were shocked when Europa-Park announced last year that the ride would be replaced.

Euro-Mir will remain in service until the end of the 2026 season, before a major transformation project begins. The current roller coasters will be completely dismantled to build a new attraction.

According to the site Baden24.de, the new attraction is scheduled to open in 2028. The iconic Euro-Mir towers, visible from afar, are expected to be preserved in a similar form, as the park spokesperson Leah Borer specified. The maintenance of the rotating wagons is also being considered.

The future of the soundtrack is a matter of concern for enthusiasts: the music “Project Euromir – Lift off!”. Many fear the disappearance of this highly appreciated piece with the closure of the attraction.

So far, no official decision has been announced. The park has only indicated that it is aware of the iconic status of this soundtrack. It remains to be seen if it will also accompany the future attraction at its inauguration.

The reconstruction on the current Euro-Mir site has become necessary as the roller coasters have reached the end of their technical lifespan. The new attraction must incorporate modernized technology and a new layout.

Its name is also expected to change. The entire area around the ride will remain dedicated to the space theme. For this project, the park aims to collaborate with the European Space Agency (ESA).
