The Saint-Victorien Wolfgang Delisle, known as “Wolf” in the village as the head of CW Ferronnerie, recently rekindled his passion for music by co-founding a French rock band called Zébu last autumn. At the heart of the project are two friends: Wolf, the drummer, and Rano, also known as Arnaud Piana, the singer, guitarist, and pianist.

The artists initially came together for a duet before being joined by Jo from the Akesteko band on bass and Benj on violin. The newly formed quartet, named Zébu, diligently worked to put music to several songs with socially conscious lyrics written by Rano. Wolf describes their music as “musical emotion transmitted and shared with the audience, at the intersection of French chanson and rock.”

Zébu’s focus is not just on music but also on human connections and utilizing their musical experiences to create a project that reflects their feelings. Their universe revolves around the emotions they share, offering a sharp perspective on the world around them, the passage of time, and of course, love.

But why Zébu? Rano humorously explains, “While riding a motorcycle in Madagascar, I accidentally hit a zebu. The name of the animal sounded good, so we adopted it!”

In January, the band released a five-track EP and will be performing a major free concert to mark the end of their residency on Friday, May 29 at the Martinet, in collaboration with the Bog Doggès association and the municipality of Martinet.
