Eric Neveux, a prominent figure in music composition for both the big and small screen, has returned to the spotlight with the single “Le Répondeur,” released on April 17, 2026 under the Tuba label.
Eric Neveux is no stranger to the French music scene. He emerged in the late 90s under the pseudonym MrNeveux during the electro wave and co-founded the label Microbe, which supported artists like Barbara Carlotti and This Is The Kit. Since then, he has become one of the most sought-after composers in French cinema, scoring films like “Those Who Love Me Can Take the Train” and notable series like “Sentinels.” He crafted the theme for the film “Le Répondeur” by Fabienne Godet, starring Denis Podalydès and Souleymane Cissé.
The critical acclaim for this melody prompted Neveux to explore new horizons. Rather than sticking to the original version, he boldly entrusted this theme to 25 different artists. This collaboration will result in a variety of reinterpretations, ranging from instrumental pieces to songs. While waiting to discover all these creations, audiences can already immerse themselves in the original version of the piece, where Macha Gharibian’s alert piano brings a unique light to the initial theme.
This unique project highlights Neveux’s ability to bridge genres, from his electro roots to the sophistication of chamber and jazz music. The single “Le Répondeur” is just a glimpse of a work that promises to be full of surprises and transformations, confirming that the composer’s talent lies not only in his own pen but also in his ability to inspire others.
