The association Les Moments Musicaux des Alpes-Maritimes presents the first two concerts of its new artistic director, Jérôme Correas.
Under the direction of their new artistic director Jérôme Correas, appointed on the occasion of their tenth anniversary, Les Moments Musicaux des Alpes-Maritimes (MMAM) are opening their 2026 season with two exceptional concerts. Scheduled for May 28 and June 7 in the prestigious setting of the Cathedral of Sainte-Réparate in Nice, these events will mark the beginning of a new chapter for the association, which has become a reference on the music scene of the French Riviera.
A new artistic vision
Since its creation in 2015, the association has been distinguished by the excellence of its programming, inviting internationally renowned ensembles and soloists such as the Collegium Vocale de Ghent, Les Talents Lyriques, and conductors Philippe Herreweghe and Christophe Rousset. The appointment of Jérôme Correas, a recognized harpsichordist, singer, and conductor, is in line with this tradition. “The 2026 program follows a clear artistic line: to showcase European musical heritage, foster dialogue between eras and aesthetics, and offer projects that are both demanding and accessible,” explains Frédéric Carcaud, General Director of Les Moments Musicaux des Alpes-Maritimes. This ambition aims to combine tradition and innovation in the magnificent setting of the baroque art offered by the cathedral.
“Festiv’Harmonies”: a vocal journey from the Renaissance to Trenet
The first event is set for Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 8 p.m. with the ensemble Les Voix Animées, under the direction of Luc Coadou. Specialized in a cappella polyphony since 2009, the ensemble will offer an eclectic program entitled “Festiv’Harmonies”. The concert promises a joyful mix of sacred music from the Renaissance (Josquin des Prés, Orlande de Lassus), secular songs from the 16th century, and revisits of famous French and Anglo-Saxon songs, from Charles Trenet to the Beatles. The cast will feature Sterenn Boulbin (soprano), Laurence Recchia (mezzo-soprano), Cyrille Lerouge (countertenor), Damien Roquetty (tenor), Camille Leblond (tenor), and Luc Coadou (baritone-bass and direction).
“Héroïnes Baroques”: virtuosic duel between Vivaldi and Handel
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 5 p.m., Jérôme Correas will conduct his own ensemble, Les Paladins, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. The concert “Héroïnes Baroques” will highlight the expressive intensity and virtuosity of female figures in the music of Vivaldi and Handel. The program will revolve around a vocal duel between two exceptional soloists: soprano Julia Wischniewski and mezzo-soprano Eléonore Pancrazi, Lyrical Revelation at the Victoires de la Musique Classique in 2019. They will be accompanied by Nicolas Crnjanski on cello, Charles-Edouard Fantin on baroque guitar, and Jérôme Correas on harpsichord and direction.
