The Italian Cinema Festival organized by La Lambretta Francese, which made its big comeback in Castelnaudary last year, announces a weekend of exceptional screenings and local flavors from April 24 to 26, 2026.

2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the twinning between Paris and Rome. In Castelnaudary, La Lambretta Francese seizes every opportunity to promote Italian culture in the Lauragais region: history, architecture, literature, language learning, Franco-Italian exchanges, collective trips, cooking workshops, and conferences are among its activities. But it also organizes an annual festival that promises an immersion in the best of Italian cinema, in a friendly and passionate atmosphere.

From Friday, April 24 to Sunday, April 26, film enthusiasts will be able to enjoy a selection of six recent Italian films and documentaries, shown with subtitles in their original version, at the Veo cinema, the event’s partner. The programming will start on Friday at 6:00 p.m. with the screening of “Diamanti,” a dramatic comedy by Ferzan Özpetek (2026). At 8:50 p.m., “La Grazia,” a romantic and political drama by Paolo Sorrentino (2026). On Saturday at 3:50 p.m., “Duse,” a biopic by Pietro Marcello. At 6:10 p.m., in preview, “Cinque Secondi,” a drama by Paolo Virzì (2025). On Sunday at 6:00 p.m., “We All Loved Each Other So Much,” Ettore Scola’s masterpiece (1974) in a restored version. At 8:50 p.m., “Pompeii, Under the Clouds,” a documentary by Gianfranco Rosi (2025), in partnership with Ciné-Clap. A fixed rate of six euros per session applies.

To enhance the pleasures of the 7th art with flavors from Italy, a food truck (Roberto Pizza) will be parked on Friday and Sunday starting from 5:30 p.m. in front of the cinema. A must-attend event for all lovers of cinema and Italian culture.
