“I will be at the most precious place: that of the audience.”

Leïla Bekhti is a regular at the Cannes Film Festival, where she first walked the red carpet in 2009 for A Prophet. This year, she will be taking on a new role as the President of the Jury for Un Certain Regard. Joining her in this task are Senegalese producer Angèle Diabang, Lebanese composer Khaled Mouzanar, Italian director Laura Samani (Italy), and French director Thomas Cailley.

The actress stated:

For the first time as Jury President, I will be in this unique position: observing, listening, sharing, celebrating. Through cinema, I have learned that films are places of encounter – with others, with oneself, with the world. Discovering them alongside a jury, experiencing this timeless journey, is both a responsibility and a joy. I look forward to these shared perspectives, dialogues, and doubts, which enrich this living art. Ultimately, I will be at the most precious place: that of the audience.

In 2025, Chilean director Diego Céspedes won the Un Certain Regard Prize with The Mysterious Gaze of the Pink Flamingo. This section dedicated to young, emerging cinema will open this year with Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma, the new film by Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw The TV Glow).
