Banijay Group and RedBird IMI have signed a strategic partnership to merge Banijay Entertainment and All3Media, creating a global media and entertainment giant, the companies announced in a joint statement. The new entity will be called Banijay and will be jointly owned by Banijay Group and RedBird IMI, each holding 50% of the shares. Once the transaction is finalized, it will be led by Marco Bassetti, currently the CEO of Banijay Entertainment.
The goal of this merger is to have a stronger presence in the global entertainment industry, particularly through a catalog “with over 260,000 hours of content” and to “strengthen positioning with global streaming platforms,” detailed the companies.
Founded by Stéphane Courbit, Banijay produces flagship programs such as the culinary reality show “MasterChef” and the adventure show “Koh-Lanta.” They are also behind the successful series “Peaky Blinders.” On the other hand, All3Media, owned by the American-Emirati fund RedBird IMI, produces, among other things, the entertainment show “the Traitors,” the film “Hamnet,” released in January and in contention for the Oscars, as well as the quadriology of films about the Beatles, directed by Sam Mendes, expected in 2028.
