The Italian cinema Festival organized by La Lambretta Francese, which made its big return to Castelnaudary last year, announces a weekend of unique screenings and local flavors, from April 24th to 26th, 2026.

This year, 2026, marks the 70th anniversary of the twinning between Paris and Rome. In Castelnaudary, La Lambretta Francese seizes every opportunity to bring Italian culture to life in Lauragais: history, architecture, literature, language learning, Franco-Italian exchanges, group trips, cooking workshops, and conferences are among its activities. But it also organizes, now annually, a festival that promises an immersion in the best of Italian cinema, in a convivial and passionate atmosphere.

From Friday, April 24th to Sunday, April 26th, movie enthusiasts will be able to discover a selection of six recent Italian films and documentaries, in their original subtitled version, all shown at the Veo cinema, a partner of the event. The programming will start on Friday at 6 pm with the screening of “Diamanti,” a dramatic comedy by Ferzan Uzpetek (2026). At 8:50 pm, “La Grazia,” a romantic and political drama by Paolo Sorrentino (2026). On Saturday at 3:50 pm, “Duse,” a biopic by Pietro Marcello. At 6:10 pm, a sneak preview of “Cinque Secondi,” a drama by Paolo Virzì (2025). On Sunday at 6 pm, “Nous nous sommes tant aimés!,” the masterpiece by Ettore Scola (1974) in a restored version. At 8:50 pm, “Pompei, Sotto le Nuvole,” a documentary by Gianfranco Rosi (2025), in partnership with Ciné-Clap. A single rate of six euros per session will be applied.

To add Italian flavors to the pleasures of cinema, a food truck (Roberto Pizza) will be parked on Friday and Sunday starting at 5:30 pm in front of the cinema. A must-attend event for all lovers of cinema and Italian culture.
