This time, it is certain: Emily Cooper is really going to say goodbye to Paris. The streaming platform Netflix announced on Thursday, May 21 that the sixth season of the series “Emily in Paris” starring Lily Collins will also be the last.

The filming of this final season has just begun, with a particularly busy schedule: after a stop in Greece, the series will set its cameras in Monaco before returning one last time to “close the loop” in the French capital.

Lily Collins herself announced the news in a video she posted on her Instagram account in collaboration with Netflix and which you can watch below. “After six unforgettable years playing Emily Cooper, I am here to announce that this sixth season will be the last,” explains the actress facing the camera. She also promises “everything that fans love about the series” as well as “a final chapter in Emily’s adventure.”

The co-star accompanied this announcement with an equally nostalgic message. “We’re back … for the last time,” she writes, before promising “one last epic adventure” between Greece and France.

From Greece, Monaco then Paris

The creator of the series, Darren Star, also greeted “the journey of a lifetime” after six seasons of this romantic comedy, full of clichés, which has become one of Netflix’s biggest international successes. In a statement released by the streaming platform, he added that he is “excited to share this final chapter” with the audience.

In season 5, the series had already left Paris to take Emily Cooper to Rome, where the young woman was in charge of developing the Grateau agency. It ended with Gabriel aboard a Greek yacht as a private chef, who was about to reconnect with Emily. In this new and therefore final season, Greece is expected to play an important role in the continuation of the story.
