This year, once again, the cinema of Samatan organized a “Cannes Film Festival evening” which attracted around sixty spectators and mobilized numerous volunteers from the Association for the cinema of Samatan. Accessing the venue through an entrance and a staircase covered with a red carpet to watch live the festival’s opening on a big screen, the spectators were first invited to “walk the red carpet”, then descend it to have a drink and snack on the various preparations prepared by the volunteers and laid out on tables outside. The spectators then gathered in the hall to watch the screening of the opening ceremony film of the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival 2026.
This event, organized for the 5th year with steadily increasing attendance, is part of the momentum of the new governing bodies (board of directors and office) elected at the general assembly last January. They quickly got to work. Consequently, they created a personalized membership and support card, valid for one year, which will allow holders to contribute to the life of their cinema and the association. They will be invited to the general assembly, participate in votes, and subscribe to the bi-monthly newsletter. This card is available at the cinema box office for €10 (minimum).
The cinema has switched to summer hours: screenings start at 9 pm instead of 8:30 pm.
