(Paris) American star Kim Kardashian claimed one euro in damages on Monday from the “pensioner robbers” commando who assaulted her in her Parisian hotel room in 2016, extracting 9 million euros ($14.4 million) worth of jewelry during Fashion Week.

Published yesterday at 11:40.

During a hearing concerning civil rights, Kardashian’s lawyer, Léonor Hennerick, demanded one euro ($1.60) for each of the four team members, including the one considered their leader, Aomar Aït Khedache, now in his seventies. Another member, Didier Dubreucq, passed away a few weeks after the verdict in May 2025.

After a highly-publicized trial lasting four weeks, the Paris Assize Court imposed lenient sentences on the ten defendants, the heaviest being three years in prison without return to custody.

The court explained that it took into account “the time that has passed” since the night of October 2 to 3, 2016, and the health status of the main characters, which “ethically prevents anyone from being jailed.”

Kim Kardashian, who was gagged, tied up, and recounted the terror she felt on the stand, said she was “satisfied” with the verdict and eager to “turn the page.”

Her stylist, Simone Bretter, present during the celebrity’s abduction, also filed a damages claim.

Investigators never recovered the loot from this violent robbery, including a ring worth 3.5 million euros that Kardashian often flaunted on social media.

The hotel receptionist, a forgotten victim of this incident, requested almost 550,000 euros in damages through his lawyer Mohand Ouidja. The bulk of this sum corresponds to a “loss of professional and academic opportunity,” as this man was a doctoral student at the time, funding his studies with the night job he couldn’t finish his thesis or advance his education.

“He has been living with post-traumatic stress disorder since. He has never been able to rebuild his life; his trajectory was shattered,” said Ouidja, whose client now resides in Algeria after being “removed from French territory.”

“One of the defense attorneys, Gabriel Duménil, retorted, “What we are asking for is a bit excessive.”

The hotel also requested 100,000 euros for image damage.

The decision on civil rights, the conclusion of this high-profile case, will be announced on September 15.
