Champion Vincent Wins Historic Victory on French Game Show
In the popular show “Tout le monde veut prendre sa place,” Vincent defeated Marie-Christine, the reigning champion on France 2 hosted by Cyril Féraud.
A new chapter unfolded in one of France 2’s legendary shows as Vincent, a 35-year-old geography and history teacher, became the new record-holder on “Tout le monde veut prendre sa place.” Arriving on September 6, Vincent surpassed Marie-Christine, who held the top spot since 2018.
The outcome seemed almost predetermined by Sunday. During the show, Vincent equaled the number of appearances with the previous champion, ultimately surpassing her on Monday with his 214th appearance and a prize of 279,900 euros. “Vincent officially becomes the greatest champion in the history of the show!” announced presenter Cyril Féraud.
This achievement sparked excitement among the audience, who warmly applauded Vincent as confetti showered the stage. “It’s incredible,” reacted the champion, receiving a trophy shaped like the iconic red armchair from the show.
“This Show Has Changed My Life”
This heartwarming TV moment also moved Cyril Féraud, who expressed his emotions. After inviting the “sacred champion” to climb the stairs to see his winnings, Féraud, with teary eyes, shared his pleasure in hosting the show with him for the past eight and a half months. “We said we wouldn’t cry, well, we’re right in the middle of it!” he added.
For this historic episode, Vincent received encouragement from Marie-Christine, who graciously supported him, expressing her admiration for his achievements. His parents and siblings, present in the audience, expressed their pride in Vincent becoming a “TV star” and a “great champion.”
Reflecting on his record-breaking win in an interview with Télé-Loisirs, Vincent shared his sense of accomplishment. “Initially, it wasn’t even a goal, it was unthinkable,” said the new champion, revealing that he was moved to tears by the support of his loved ones who traveled from all corners of France to witness the event.
“This show has changed my life,” affirmed the thirty-something contestant before concluding, “I am aware that defeat will come, but the later, the better.”
