The Palace Barcelona, the city’s first five-star hotel and one of Spain’s most iconic addresses, opened in 1919. This year, it reinvents itself to pay tribute to Antoni Gaudí, celebrating the centenary of his death.

Recently, the Palace Barcelona completely redesigned its rooftop terrace on the 7th floor of the hotel. Renamed Gaudí Secret Garden by St-Germain, it underwent a complete transformation in decor and layout to honor Antoni Gaudí, whose centenary is being celebrated this year.

The rooftop is well known for its Domenica Summer Brunch, which attracts locals and visitors every Sunday for a Mediterranean gourmet brunch in a floral and sunny setting, away from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Saying goodbye to the old terrace, the 1,500m² Rooftop Garden has been completely reinvented around Gaudí’s visual and architectural universe. Lush vegetation, abundant mosaics, jasmine, and orange blossom flowers—every detail is designed to immerse visitors in the Mediterranean atmosphere that characterizes Gaudí’s work. All with a panoramic view directly of the Sagrada Família, making the setting even more impressive.

Starting May 1st, a cutting-edge cocktail bar opens on the terrace, offering a menu directly inspired by the architect’s work, like the “Mosaic Sour,” a reference to his famous mosaics.

On June 10, the exact date of his centenary, the rooftop will host an exclusive commemorative dinner limited to twelve guests, echoing the official ceremony taking place that evening at the Sagrada Família.

From May 28, the terrace transforms into an open-air cinema, a recurring experience at the Palace: hammocks, homemade popcorn, and cocktails under the stars, with Barcelona’s beauty as a backdrop. Over the weekend, live music takes over, with soft sets on Fridays and Saturdays starting from 8 pm.

To continue the Mediterranean spirit beyond the rooftop, the Palace offers sea excursions on its private boat to Sitges or just to admire Barcelona from the sea with a glass of champagne in hand.
