“We didn’t make the right choices in very favorable situations for us in the first half hour of the game and they scored with their first chance. They then scored a goal with a fabulous move from a player from 50 meters away and the last goal, we scored ourselves,” relives coach Cédric Pardeilhan.

“We did our best”

“This year, nothing was spared for us. But we did our best and I can only congratulate my players for their commitment throughout this season,” he continues with greater enthusiasm. Regardless of the outcome of this final day, positives have been drawn. “Starting with the integration of players into the N3 group who had never experienced this level,” he adds.

“The departure of five players during the winter break weighed us down a bit, as there was less competition and probably a little less intensity in training sessions, but I acknowledge that everyone did their job this year,” the coach adds.

Despite a low recruitment level at the start of the season, the six penalty points imposed by the Federation in November, and the wave of departures in the winter, the Anglet Genêts managed to stay in contention until April. “We endured all these setbacks without giving up, and even though we are not in the final sprint in terms of points, it will be a valuable learning season for everyone,” he concludes with hope for a home victory to reward the players’ commitment and the Saint-Jean stadium crowd.
