The Limoges Handball team has announced the recruitment of Polish international left back Piotr Mielczarski, 20 years old, who is currently playing in Spain’s Liga ASOBAL for Irún for the next three seasons. The club, guaranteed to play in Europe next season, continues its recruitment.
After Valentin Kieffer, Lucas Petit, and Tom Pelayo, a new face will join the Limoges Handball team next season. Just 20 years old, Piotr Mielczarski, currently number 24 for Bidasoa Irún, will officially join LH on July 1, 2026. Considered one of the top prospects in Polish handball, Piotr Mielczarski (1.97m – 83kg) will strengthen the team with his versatile playing style.
Originally a center in training, he is now making a name for himself as a left back. A native of Lublin, he started his training in Puławy before moving to the federal training center in Kielce (SMS Kielce). Piotr Mielczarski became the youngest player in history to be called up to Poland’s national team, just before his 18th birthday in 2023. He also stood out in international youth championships (U18 & U21), where he was regularly named MVP. Playing in the Polish second division, he was named the best left back of the championship at just 17 years old (147 goals in 25 matches).
Having chosen to explore the Liga ASOBAL by joining Irún in 2024, he then moved to Guadalajara in the 2024-2025 season to gain experience, scoring 81 goals in 29 matches in his first international stint. After this successful adaptation, he returned to CD Bidasoa Irún this season to continue his progress. With 80 goals in the league, he also made his mark in the EHF European League, shining in matches against Montpellier (13 goals total) and Kiel, where he scored 7 goals.
