As many celebrities do, Laurent Voulzy needs peace and quiet to create. It is only natural that the musician decided to move away from the French capital to a place highly appreciated by stars. He chose the village of Kerhostin, on the renowned peninsula of Quiberon. He owns a house facing the ocean with a unique history.

The house of Laurent Voulzy in Quiberon, a very special property

While Laurent Voulzy has been in the village for a long time, he did not always live in the same place. According to a report by PurePeople, “He first had a very small house in the village center and then, when the large house known as La Roche Noire, an iconic property in Kerhostin, was put up for sale, he bought it.” It seems to be an idyllic place: “It is a house on a height, you can see it from the beach. He did enormous work, not everyone liked it at the time, but the result is beautiful.”

With this house, Laurent Voulzy has not only bought a piece of peace but also a piece of history. Why? Because this building “sheltered several painters in the 19th century.” The list includes names like Maxime Maufra, Léon Duval-Gozlan, and the American Maurice Herter, all artists close to the famous Paul Gauguin.

A complete tranquility for the singer

Despite being a celebrity, Laurent Voulzy feels good in the village of Kerhostin, where he enjoys a normal life with his family. A local remembers, “They were not people who hid, on the contrary. They were calm here, there is a benevolence from the locals towards celebrities.”

This sentiment is confirmed by the manager of the bakery Maison Boblique in Saint-Pierre Quiberon. According to him, the singer is “very discreet” with “simple habits” like walks on the beach. Laurent Voulzy seems to have settled into the area: “He loves the wild side of the area, the fact that there are no curious people here to bother him. He still lives in his house La Roche Noire and often visits the shop. We have specialties that he really enjoys: Far Breton, Kouign-amann,” the merchant recounts.

And this corner of paradise also allows the star to focus on his art: “He likes to come off-season, in winter for example, to experience the real life of the people of the peninsula. He also comes to write, find inspiration and peace.” Nonetheless, he doesn’t hesitate to have some fun in music, as explained by a resident. She mentions that the artist never misses an opportunity to attend the “Fest-Noz festival at the beginning of August in Kerhostin, organized by the village association.” A beautiful life for the star!
