The ESC team showed promising signs and continued their winning streak on Saturday night, May 9 at Viadène, with a 4-1 victory.
“We started the match very well and dominated the first 20 minutes completely. However, despite not being clinical enough, we managed to take the lead at the 15th minute through Dimitri Cayre. But from that point, we slowed down and retreated, allowing the home team to score. But just before halftime, we had two clear chances to score again,” commented ESC coach Faridi Aboubacari.
In the second half, the home team pushed forward while the visitors, leading 1-0, seemed to still be in the locker rooms.
“We were completely disorganized, lacking energy and motivation, and the home team took advantage to equalize with a stunning shot into the top corner. 1-1 in the 49th minute,” highlighted the combinois coach.
The visitors were awakened by the goal and took control of the game, putting pressure on their opponents. In the 72nd minute, Dimitri Cayre broke free on the wing and passed back to David Bangoura who scored, making it 2-1 for ESC.
ESC dominated the field, and the home team, physically unable to keep up, faced constant attacks from the “black and white” team. Young ESC defender Baptiste Brugel started from his own half, dribbled past opponents, and scored against the local goalkeeper (79th minute) to make it 3-1 for ESC.
But the game wasn’t over yet. In injury time, coach Faridi Aboubacari made his presence felt on the field, setting up Zaidou for the 4-1 goal (92nd minute).
“We found our game back, albeit a bit late, but we’ll take what we can get before the last game of the season next Saturday at home against Montbazens-Rignac,” concluded coach Faridi Aboubacari.
The second team also stood out this weekend, playing against Vabre-Tizac on Saturday night at René Grès.
After a strong start, the combinoise substitutes led 3-0 within 20 minutes, but then relaxed and conceded 2 goals to the visitors.
At halftime, with the score at 3-2, combinois coach Anfane Hamoudi gave a strong talk to his team and made tactical adjustments.
Effectively, the combinois team stepped up their game and scored 3 more goals in the second half, resulting in a final 6-2 victory, with 2 goals from Guillaume Falipou, 2 from Enzo Auguste, one from Tarka Hamada, and one from Varane. This win ensures their promotion to D III next season.
Meanwhile, the U15 team, coached by Arnaud Garric, David Félici, and Nyster, finished at the top of phase 2 by beating Druelle 7-2. The goal scorers were Loucas Bousquet, Kenzo Vital (2), Tao Montolio, Kenzo Cordier, and Brian Madi (2).
