In Cérilly, Allier, the association Polymorphe offers a rich program of shows, workshops, and concerts at the Rutin farm.
Located in the heart of the Rutin farm, an active sheep farm, the Polymorphe association continues its mission of cultural revitalization in rural areas. By combining community projects with agricultural activities, this unique location near the Tronçais forest has become a hub of creativity and encounters. For the months of May and June, the structure unveils a diverse and rich program, blending theater, music, creative workshops, and environmental discussions.
A spring bursting with shows and encounters
May begins with a residency release on Saturday, May 16 at 7:30 pm: “Rural Chic, a country cabaret” by the Group Ubürik. This free-entry show offers a series of acts (songs, monologues, Drag King performances) to portray a quirky picture of our time. The audience is invited to share a meal with the artists after the performance.
On Friday, May 22 at 8 pm, it’s time for music with the concert by the Cornélius fanfare. Drawing inspiration from the rhythms of New Orleans and the poetry of Prévert, this group offers an energetic and festive performance. A vegetarian meal will be available on-site. The entrance fee is set at 10 euros (solidarity rate at 5 euros).
On Saturday, May 23, from 2 pm to 5 pm, a free workshop-conference will focus on “forest-gardens.” Led by Béatrice Bewer, founder of the eco-place La Beaume in Couzon, this event, organized in partnership with the association Le Rouetton, will explore this model of sustainable agriculture that mimics forest ecosystems.
The month will conclude on Saturday, May 30 with a double proposal. From 10 am to 5 pm, the collective Les Parlantes will lead a free and open-to-all (registration required) mini-theater workshop to collectively create a theatrical stroll on the theme of water.
On the same day at 6 pm, the company Chaos Canem will present “Bif-Beauf,” a residency release exploring class contempt through an immersive form.
June: between sewing, writing, and family theater
June’s program will start with the show “Frou-Frou” by the company La Belle Trame, on Friday, June 12 at 7:30 pm. Two costume-designer actresses will tell the story of women’s clothing using a “sewing-bike” that the audience can pedal. This all-ages show (from 6 years old) is free of charge.
A sewing-bike workshop, free and by registration, will also be offered by the company on Saturday, June 13 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Writing enthusiasts can participate in a weekend workshop on June 6 and 7, led by Marie Chou from the Herisson Social Club. The goal will be to create texts on the theme “Inventories of our countryside.” The fee is 80 euros for two days, with accommodation options available on-site.
A hub of creation and connections
Beyond public events, the Rutin farm is a creative space that hosts many artists in residence, such as the Ubürik company or Chaos Canem. An artistic participation call has been launched for an event scheduled in November, “Prairies Futures,” inviting artists to reflect on the future of farming. The deadline for proposing a project is set for May 30, 2026.
The Polymorphe association also strengthens the links between the city and the countryside, especially through a school exchange program. After hosting middle school students from Cérilly in Villeurbanne in March, the association is preparing to welcome 45 young people from Villeurbanne on May 26 for a day of immersion in the Tronçais country.
Finally, to support the project, it is possible to join the association for the year 2026 via their website.
