In the program: an afternoon of live music, improvisations, Mediterranean tales, and strolls in one of the most peaceful spots in the metropolis.

An immersive musical experience at the heart of the Jardin des Figuiers

Head to Mosaïc, the jardin des cultures in Houplin-Ancoisne, this Sunday, May 17. Between 2pm and 6pm, several events will enliven the afternoon in a setting that exudes vacation vibes. At the Jardin des Figuiers, the company Les Toupies invites visitors to discover and play with a variety of instruments: darboukas, kalimbas, tambourines, bells, acoustic guitar… The idea? To improvise together around Arab-Andalusian rhythms and Gnawa blues. An uncommon, highly sensory experience where both children and adults can join in.

A concert blending traditions and trance

At 3pm, the trio Fakir takes the stage, led by oriental, Mediterranean, and contemporary influences. Violin, saz, guitar, double bass… the musicians blend styles and create an almost hypnotic ambiance. Between oriental melodies, more modern grooves, and traditional inspirations, the concert promises a true auditory journey.

Tales evoking the Mediterranean

At 4:30pm and 5:30pm, a change of ambiance with the company La Vache bleue, who will transport visitors with tales from Greece and Italy. Funny stories, marvelous narratives, and philosophical fables unfold in the Terrasses de la Méditerranée, in the middle of the garden. The kind of simple, suspended moment that we love when the sunny days return.

A good reason to (re)discover Mosaïc

Honestly, even without the event, Mosaïc is definitely worth a visit. With its gardens inspired by cultures from around the world, artistic installations, and vast green spaces, the park is among the most underrated spots around Lille when the weather is nice. So, why not combine the useful with the pleasant.
