On the set of “C à Vous” this Friday 8 May, Laurent Voulzy and his partner, Isaure Le Faou, opened up about their relationship. In addition to discussing their age difference, the singer did not hesitate to praise her companion.
“We have an age difference, but I don’t see it,” said Laurent Voulzy, causing laughter on the set. The singer of “Belle-Île-en-Mer” and his partner, Isaure Le Faou, were guests on the show “C à Vous” this Friday 8 May. Facing Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine, the couple shared some insights about their relationship, starting with mentioning the age gap that separates the two artists. Indeed, the 77-year-old singer has a 33-year difference with his 44-year-old partner. But he barely notices this age difference. “It’s almost a recurring reproach against me. They tell me I have no sense of time. It took me three years to make an album, to record it. I don’t see time passing, it’s almost a fault. So obviously, we have an age difference, but I don’t see it,” Laurent Voulzy said before laughing and correcting himself. “I still see her very well, I’m not stupid, but at the same time, I don’t see it. It may not last, but I have a somewhat strange sense of time, I’ve been told that many times.”
“I cried throughout the concert” Isaure Le Faou has been sharing her life with Laurent Voulzy for 7 years. As she explained on the set of “C à Vous,” it was she who made the first move by writing a letter to the singer to let him listen to the songs she had composed. “In fact, I attended his concert, when he was singing with Alain (Souchon, NDLR) and I cried throughout the concert,” she revealed. “So I wanted to let him listen to my songs and we met like that. We met at Place des Vosges (in Paris, NDLR) and started a dialogue that hasn’t stopped and continues in music, in books.” In front of the cameras of France 5, journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi also recalled that Isaure Le Faou had grown up listening to Laurent Voulzy’s songs on her walkman.
She was very inspired by the artist’s work, which made her want to become a singer herself. “Laurent Voulzy, Alain Souchon, for me, were absolute masters,” she admitted, adding that the singer of “Foule Sentimentale” had a certain “art of poetry” and was a role model for many people. “And for me, Laurent is one of the greatest melodists in the world, meaning, he is in the league of people like Paul McCartney. People who have this notion of melody that marks us in France, because there aren’t many like that actually,” said Laurent Voulzy’s partner. This praise did not fail to make the singer of “Rockollection” blush.
