Patriot tops Osbourn Park on Aubrey Shelton’s walk-off homer

PATRIOT 12, OSBOURN PARK 9: Aubrey Shelton homered in the bottom of the seventh Friday to give the host Pioneers (5-5, 10-7) the Cedar Run District win.

Shelton’s three-run homer went to center field. It was her second homer of the game. She also hit a homer in the fourth inning. Batting second, Shelton finished the game 3 for 5 with three runs scored and five RBI.

For the game, Patriot recorded four home runs. Allison Day and Layla Allen also hit homers.

Patriot led 8-4 through four innings before Osbourn Park (6-5, 13-5) scored five in the top of the fifth. Patriot tied the game at 9-all with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

Madison Mozingo was 3 for 4 with two RBI and one run scored for Osbourn Park. Jenna Wilson was 1 for 4 with two RBI and one run scored, including a home run.

BRENTSVILLE 6, KETTLE RUN 1: Ava Garza and Annabelle Armstrong each had two RBI for Brentsville (6-5, 7-8).

Bailey Dawson got the win. She struck out four and allowed seven hits, one run and two walks in seven innings.

COLGAN 6, FOREST PARK 1: Dorsey Grose struck out 12 in the Sharks’ Cardinal District win Friday.

The senior allowed four hits, three walks and one run in seven innings. Grose also hit a home run.

Colgan (10-1, 15-2) led 6-0 after the first three innings.

HYLTON 19, FREEDOM-WOODBRIDGE 1: Alexandra Newton went 2 for 2 with five RBI and three runs scored for Hylton (6-5, 7-10).

WOODBRIDGE 15, GAR-FIELD 0: Bobbi Tate went 3 for 5 with three RBI and two runs scored for Woodbridge (7-3 8-8).
