Turkish parliament speaker Kurtulmus reaffirmed Turkey’s views on Vietnam as a key partner in Southeast Asia due to shared history, cultural identity, foreign policy, and family values. Kurtulmus met with Vietnamese ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha in Ankara to discuss bilateral relations. He praised the success of Vietnam National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man’s recent visit to Istanbul for the 152nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly. Kurtulmus commended Man’s sincerity and proposals to enhance friendship and cooperation. He emphasized the importance of parliamentary friendship groups in promoting people-to-people exchanges, cultural connectivity, and centralized cooperation. Ambassador Dang applauded Turkey’s hosting of the IPU-152 and invited Kurtulmus to visit Vietnam. She highlighted the progress in bilateral friendship and cooperation, expressing Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening ties with Turkey across various sectors. Propositions were made to boost exchanges in politics, diplomacy, economy, trade, security, defense, and parliamentary coordination. Kurtulmus wished Ambassador Dang success in bolstering bilateral relations and expressed his intention to visit Vietnam soon.
