When asked if she has finally made peace with herself and others, the actress’s response is spontaneous: “Yes, I think so. We have a bit more wisdom, things slide off more easily,” admits Alexandra. “With time, we calm down, we know better where we stand in life.” She is not excessively nostalgic and does not fear aging. There is no turning back anyway…
However, the actress does not hide that she has a special fondness for another decade. Certainly, the fifties, “is a beautiful age,” as she puts it, “but if I were asked to choose one and not move, I would say 40 years,” confesses the mother of Chloé Jouannet. Alexandra associates this period with a sense of freedom: children grow up, daily life becomes lighter… and most importantly, she adds with humor, “you don’t need ten days to recover after a night out.”
An actress embracing letting go
This personal evolution also resonates with the characters she chooses to embody. In “Pour le plaisir,” a comedy about the creation of the Womanizer, the famous female sex toy, her character is precisely faced with the question of letting go and self-assertion. A theme that mirrors her own journey.
Because in life as well, Alexandra Lamy believes she has learned to put things into perspective more with age. “With age, I have learned to let go,” she explains in Gala. Before adding, philosophically: “With time, we evolve, we trust ourselves. We feel empowered to speak up, to say no as well.”
