The weather could deteriorate during the day

This Friday, May 8, 2026 starts off sunny, but it will likely deteriorate in the afternoon. The sky will cloud over, with a chance of showers and even thunderstorms. Despite the chilly temperatures this morning (6°C), the thermometer will gradually rise to reach 17°C during the day. The sun rose at 6:42 a.m. and will set at 9:42 p.m. The tide will be low at 4:56 p.m. and high at 10:36 a.m. and 11:01 p.m. (tide coefficients 44 and 40).

We wish a happy feast day to Désiré. It’s also the birthday of Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias (51) and television host Laurence Boccolini (63). May 8 also marks the date of the German surrender in World War II in 1945, a victory for France and its allies, and World Red Cross Day – its founder, Henry Dunant, was born on May 8, 1828, and established this movement in 1864.

A whirlwind in the sky over Plouezoc’h

While walking in Plouezoc’h on Thursday morning, Gilbert Brenaut spotted an astonishing natural phenomenon in the sky: the formation of a small whirlwind in the midst of the clouds. After a few moments, it dissipated. He shared his photo with us.

In Plougasnou, these abandoned ponds come to life thanks to the cinema

That’s the magic of cinema! For the filming of the movie “Why not us?”, the former ponds of the Diben port are brought back to life after being abandoned for several years. Actors and extras have revitalized this stunningly realistic setting, as if the ponds had never stopped functioning.

Number of the day: 300

This is the number of humanitarian projects inaugurated by Michel Jestin in Bénin. Located in Saint-Martin-des-Champs, the former president of Stade Brestois 29 founded the MJ for Children association, which works to improve living conditions in rural areas of this West African country by building schools, wells, orphanages, and more.

At 16, this cyclist excels among seniors

In her first season competing among seniors, cyclist Eloane Lebreton surprises and performs well! Venturing into the big leagues, she simply wanted to have fun and gain experience. The Plouzévédé native has surpassed her own expectations and taken on leading roles in some races.
