Yesterday night, during the NBA playoffs, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Detroit Pistons won at home against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers, respectively, and now lead 2-0 in the conference semi-finals.

As the defending champions, the Thunder continue to shine in the NBA playoffs. After sweeping the Phoenix Suns (4-0), Oklahoma City is now on a six-game winning streak in the postseason after their second victory against the Lakers (125-107). At the Paycom Center, although Mark Daigneault’s players were trailing by a bit at halftime (57-58), their reaction in the last two quarters was devastating for the Los Angeles-based franchise (68-49). Now leading 2-0 in this series, OKC once again relied on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (22 points).

The Canadian point guard was supported by Chet Holmgren (22 points and 9 rebounds) and Ajay Mitchell (20 points and 6 assists). On the other side, the Lakers may have some regrets after a good start to the game. Still without Luka Doncic, the Lakers saw Austin Reaves stand out in this match (31 points and 6 assists), while LeBron James (23 points and 6 assists) also had a strong performance. Now, it’s time for game 3 this Saturday in California.

The Pistons make it five in a row

Less impressive at the moment than the Thunder, the Pistons are also continuing their impressive winning streak. After winning the last three games against the Orlando Magic in the previous round, Detroit now leads 2-0 against Cleveland. At home, the team that finished on top of the Eastern Conference was challenged but did not break (107-97), before heading to Ohio.

Led by Cade Cunningham (25 points and 10 assists), the home team started the game well (54-43 at halftime), but then saw Donovan Mitchell’s Cavaliers (31 points and 6 rebounds) come back and even take the lead at the start of the fourth quarter (79-81). Forced to react, Tobias Harris’ Pistons (21 points and 7 rebounds) and Duncan Robinson (17 points) finished better (28-16) and are now just two wins away from qualification.
