After three seasons with Hyères-Toulon Var Basket, French forward Nikola Knezevic (2.00m, 26 years old) is set to join Alliance Sport Alsace (ASA), the Gries-Souffelweyersheim club, according to our sources. Despite interest from ADA Blois and a tempting contract extension from HTV, ASA successfully convinced the Belgrade native to make the move. Knezevic, who has shown promise in recent seasons, will be stepping up to a more established second-division club after transitioning from NM1 to ELITE 2 with the Var-based team.
In his role under Stéphane Dumas, Knezevic has brought energy, defense, and outside shooting skills to the team. His maturity and consistency have grown over the seasons in a “team player” role. Although his impact goes beyond statistics, his numbers speak for themselves with 10.3 points on 48.3% shooting (including 40.6% from three-point range), along with 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 23 minutes per game over 29 matches.
At ASA, Knezevic will benefit from coach Trumo Bogavac’s coaching style that complements his physicality and off-ball play. With an environment that suits his strengths, he will have plenty of spot-up shooting opportunities, where he has proven to be effective when well-supplied. In his latest match on May 1st, he scored 16 points on 5/7 shooting in 31 minutes against ASA.
