On Friday, May 15, starting at 6 p.m., Valery Orlov, known as “the great Russian voice”, will perform a concert at the Barbotan-les-Thermes church.

Russia has many treasures, one of them being its deep bass voices, capable of transporting the audience to the vast and distant land of legends. Throughout the centuries, these voices have gained recognition, just like Italian tenors. Valery Orlov, a former member of the Red Army Choir, is a lyrical singer, pianist, and composer, trained at the prestigious National Superior Conservatory of Odessa.

He returns to Barbotan to enchant the audience with the depth and beauty of his bass voice, taking them on an unforgettable musical journey through Russian, Ukrainian, Gypsy, Orthodox, and romantic songs – uniting the soul of the Slavic world. His exceptional voice, like a delicate brush on a canvas, invites the audience to a unique emotional experience.

The program combines Russian romanticism and masterpieces of sacred music from around the world. During the journey, the audience will also have the opportunity to discover traditional instruments, including the iconic balalaika, presented by Tatiana Zolotoukhina, a graduate of the Orenburg Music Conservatory. Tickets will be available on-site one hour before the concert.
