In Plaisance-du-Gers, friendly and festive events for all audiences will mark this spring month.

To warm up, there’s nothing like applauding the Passem relay race, which takes place on the roads of Béarn, Bigorre, Gers, Lot-et-Garonne, Gironde, and Landes to promote Gascon Occitan culture. It will pass through Plaisance on Tuesday, May 5, between 12 noon and 2 pm, and the public is encouraged to cheer on the runners carrying a secret message revealed at the finish line!

Sneakers will be on display on Friday, May 8, leading supporters to the bullring stadium for the traditional URBR rugby school tournament, a collaboration of the Plaisance, Riscle, and Castelnau-Madiran clubs. On Sunday, May 10, fans can catch the USP players in the 32nd final of the Regional 3 French Championship (the location and opponent team will be known early in the week). That same day, you can browse the flea market organized by the music school around the church. From May 20 to 25, the 20th Nature Festival will be celebrated throughout France, and Agir Ensemble pour Défier la Solitude will open the doors of the shared garden of Ormeaux on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm.

Visitors can exchange gardening tips in a spirit of conviviality driven by the strong desire to create connections for a better community living. And to end the lovely month of May with talent, head to the 32nd Crafts Fair from May 22 to 24.

The multipurpose hall will showcase about thirty artisans presenting their original creations, with the guest Benj Meuble Auto offering surprising decorative objects made from old car parts. Attendees can also make a puppet at the media library on Saturday, admire the works of the students from the drawing school at the town hall, and search for treasures at the flea market on Sunday morning in the church square (registrations at 06 51 20 01 02).
