It has become as much a meeting for supporters as for executives who organize their schedules around these signings. After Elias Quiñonez, Ruben Lomet, Chibuike Ugochukwu, Junior Aké, Issa Habri, and most recently Mohamed Chebbi, Stade Rennais, 7th in Ligue 1, will again be recording two new contracts this week.

The first, Henrick Do Marcolino, part of the Do Marcolino family with Alan and Jonathan (turned pro last summer before being loaned to National Bourg-en-Bresse), is about to sign a three-year contract. Negotiations that have been ongoing for several weeks have led to an agreement. This young attacking midfielder born in 2006 is starting to make his mark in the first team. At the end of February, he played three games in Ligue 1, getting his first minutes as a professional against Auxerre (0-3, February 22).

Do Marcolino’s signing will be followed in a few days by Florian Truffert, younger brother of French international Adrien, who now plays for Bournemouth. This versatile midfielder, also capable of playing as a full-back, took part in the preseason preparations with the professional team. He too will sign a three-year deal.

Rennes bets on Soukouna

Like his two teammates, Isiaka Soukouna (20 years old) sees his trainee contract expiring at the end of the season. A central defender by trade, the former Neuilly-sur-Marne resident is expected to be one of the players from the 2006 generation to earn a professional contract. According to our information, an offer has recently been made to him, and discussions are well underway for him to extend his stay for another three seasons with the Red and Black.
