The Met Gala takes place on Monday, May 4th at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. An evening presided over by Anna Wintour that will bring together personalities from around the world, including a few French ones.
It is not surprising each year to see France shining at the Met Gala through carefully selected guests by Anna Wintour for their influence in cinema, music, fashion, and social media.
So when the most scrutinized fashion event of the year takes place on Monday, April 4th at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, BFMTV.com provides an overview of the French personalities who will be present on the red carpet tonight to embody the theme “Fashion is Art.”

While the list of Met Gala guests is slowly revealed, some names of celebrities who are part of the event’s organizing committee have already been disclosed, such as the singer Yseult.
The French singer is among the personalities responsible for overseeing the event sponsored this year by Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren, alongside other stars like Saint-Laurent’s artistic director Anthony Vaccarello, American actress Zoë Kravitz, and singers Sabrina Carpenter and Doja Cat.
Beyoncé, who hasn’t attended the Met Gala since 2016, will also co-chair the annual gala alongside actress Nicole Kidman and former world No. 1 tennis player Venus Williams.
According to Paris Match, two other French personalities are expected at the Met Gala on Monday night: actress and singer Charlotte Gainsbourg, who has been invited to the event multiple times in the past, as well as fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus.

This is not the first time that French stars have been invited by Anna Wintour to the prestigious Met Gala. In the past, many personalities from France have graced the red carpet of the renowned gala. In 2025, actor Omar Sy and dancer Guillaume Diop were present at the event.
In 2024, three French women were among the guests: content creator Léna Situations, who made her debut in 2022, actress Isabelle Huppert, and singer Aya Nakamura.
In recent years, other French celebrities have also attended the New York event in extravagant outfits, such as Marion Cotillard (attended six times), Catherine Deneuve, Lou Doillon, the French-American Lily-Rose Depp, Camille Cottin, and Juliette Binoche.
