A workshop on self-defense was organized by the Friends of the Valleys, with about thirty participants taking part. The initiative was seen as useful, friendly, and greatly appreciated.
In Vielle-Aure this Wednesday, the “Self-Defense Seniors” workshop organized by the Friends of the Valleys was a success. Nearly thirty participants attended to learn simple and effective techniques for prevention and reaction to different situations of aggression in a comforting and inclusive environment.
During the three-hour workshop, the instructors Corinne and Alain from AC 65 Krav Maga engaged the participants with a pedagogical, interactive, and dynamic approach. Through clear explanations, practical demonstrations, and various scenarios, the participants learned how to respond to different types of attacks and the importance of vigilance, posture, stress management, and immediate surroundings. Techniques for disengagement, alertness, and defusing situations were also demonstrated with a focus on effectiveness and realism.
The workshop turned into a moment of sharing and learning, with a studious yet friendly atmosphere contributing to its success. Participants enthusiastically participated in surprising exercises, staged scenes with humor, and spontaneous laughter, almost forgetting the passing time.
Everyone left satisfied, praising the competence, kindness, and infectious energy of the two instructors. Many expressed a desire to repeat the experience and deepen their useful everyday learning.
Beyond the practical techniques taught, this meeting emphasized that personal protection learning can happen in a serene and accessible setting, enhancing self-confidence, autonomy, and security. Each participant received a personal pocket alarm from the Friends of the Valleys at the end of the workshop, a symbolic and practical gesture that was highly appreciated.
This initiative, useful, warm, and meaningful, once again demonstrates the commitment of the Friends of the Valleys to the well-being and security of seniors.
