On May 1st, 2026 at 5:00 PM, Pablo Matéo will be competing in the World Relay Championships in Gaborone, Botswana. Matéo, a sprinter from AC Lisses, will be part of the 4×100 meters men’s group and the mixed 4×100 meters group along with other athletes from various clubs.
Matéo, the reigning French champion in the 60 meters indoor race, expressed his eagerness to perform well in the upcoming championships. Despite his background in football, Matéo has been dedicated to competitive athletics for the past twelve years.
Reflecting on his decision to focus on athletics over football, Matéo emphasized the discipline and mental strength required in his sport. He sees athletics as a challenging yet rewarding endeavor that builds character and resilience.
Matéo’s goal is to qualify the French team for the European Championships in Birmingham and future world championships. He recently underwent training in Mauritius to enhance team coordination and prepare for upcoming competitions.
