On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes against Iran, killing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who had been in power for over 35 years. This attack has since ignited the Middle East. Myriam Bounafaa looks back at the chronology of events, the different alliances that led to this war, and the role of France and Europe in this conflict.
Elise Lambert met with Azadeh Alemi, an Iranian living in France for over thirty years. A opponent of the Iranian regime, she explains why her family fled the country when she was a child and discusses the imposed restrictions on freedoms for the people.
Raphaël Yem focuses on another aspect of the conflict: the war of images. On social networks, each side spreads videos and messages to sway public opinion and show their power. But some images can be deceptive: videos taken out of context, edits, or images created with artificial intelligence. This underscores the importance of always verifying the source.
